Hi! I’m Diego Farje, a Peruvian equestrian specializing in show jumping and eventing. My passion for horses began in Lima, Peru, where I grew up in a family closely connected to the mounted police. My father, an officer in the Peruvian National Police, and my grandfather, both riders, inspired me from a young age to pursue the equestrian world.
I started my career in show jumping, competing in various national and international tournaments. However, at the age of 18, encouraged by my father, I decided to explore eventing—a discipline still underdeveloped in Peru. Through self-directed training and determination, I earned the opportunity to represent my country at the 2013 Bolivarian Games, finishing fourth individually.
In 2019, I competed at the Pan American Games in Lima, where, on the mount of Qouter, I placed 11th individually—Peru’s best result in the history of the event.
In 2020, I moved to the United States in search of greater opportunities. Where I had the pride of working as a lead rider and trainer at Boyd Martin’s Windurra USA based in Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
In 2022, with Shmick, one of Boyd’s horses, I won the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Championship for 4-year-olds earning the highest score in the nine past editions.
My goal is to continue growing as a rider, representing Peru at international competitions, and promoting the development of eventing in my home country. I’m grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey, and I look forward to sharing more milestones along the way.
